From July 9 to 10, 2018, Feng Sansan, China's top ten designers, founder of FENGSANSAN studio and design director of Beijing Baixue and Beibei children's clothing, was invited to our school to give a series of lectures entitled "Creative Road of Fashion Design" in Wangjiang Campus. This event was arranged during the "Practice and International Course Week" of Sichuan University. Zhao Wu, an associate professor of clothing and apparel design in our college, presided over the event and delivered a welcome speech. Teachers of textile and apparel design and more than 100 students of this major listened to the wonderful lecture.
Feng Sansan, formerly known as Wu Yan, was a designer of Zeng Fengfei Studio and Lawrence Xu Senior Custom Studio. He founded his own studio in 2011, published "I am not a Master - Contemporary Fashion Effect Map" in 2015, and won the title of Top Ten Designers in China in 2017.
The series of lectures are umfangreich and involve many aspects of fashion design, which brings a brainstorming about fashion for students of the International Weekly Elective Course. On the first day of the lecture, Professor Feng Sansan explained the guide of fashion design contest, guided students to actively explore the transformation of creative fabrics in fashion design, and showed many eye-catching fashion design cases. The next day's lecture focused on the theme of the construction and development of clothing brand. Teacher Feng analyzed the classic foreign brand cases for the students, shared his own personal brand creation experience and entrepreneurial experience, and leaded the students to understand the designer brand, which built a good blueprint for entrepreneurship and employment in the future in the fashion industry . Teacher Feng Sansan also encouraged the students to collect more inspiration materials to express our unique understanding of "fashion creative design".
After this series of lectures on "Creative Way of Fashion Design", the students of our college got a further understanding of the latest trends and development environment of fashion design, meanwhile got a deep understanding of their own learning and development in the professional field. Teachers and students have gained a lot from their interaction, and the "Practice and International Course Week" has been a success.
